Happy birthday to me! And baoling! and elim!
Happy Birthday to me (and baoling and elim)! Happy birthday to me (and baoling and elim)! Happy birthday to meee (and baoling and elimmm)! Happy birthday to meeeeeeeee ( and baoling and elimmmmmmm)!
19 already, growing old.
Anyway, Baoling and Elim have the same birthdays as me! One is my secondary school friend, the other AJ percussionist (junior). Hee, she does not seem like a junior though.
Happy birthday Baoling and Elim! Haha, baoling was the first person to SMS me happy birthday at 12am sharp today.
Yay! M.A.S.T music today! Then coming home, think MAYBE having a cake, and then it is back to HOMEWORK! What a birthday . . .
I don't believe I actually announced my birthday on my blog. I was determined to keep it under wraps or at least not talk about it. Not nice to keep blabbering on and on about one's birthday, you understand. Yes, but just to remind you, I am older now and that means I have thicker skin, so I will blog about my birthday as much as I want!
muhahahahaha!
Furong jiejie/fu
Furong JiefuGot this from mr brown's blog. Again. It's a music video someone made about Furong jiejie's "husband", furong-jiefu. I am amused by the video and utterly disgusted by her. There is a link to her actual chinese blog on mr brown's blog. I refuse to link her. Say whatever you want, I still refuse to link her.
I want to watch "Stomp" too, Yizhen! Will somebody buy me tickets as my birthday present? I have only less than an hour left to the end of my youth... I'm growing old. =(
And to friends who are reading this : No, you do not have to get me anything. I do not wish to receive any presents. Wishes will be enough. I don't want to be reminded of my age! Ok, maybe tickets to Stomp will be nice. Or an iPod nano. I tell you, I am madly in love with that nano. Or perhaps a handphone!
Hmm... I still prefer an iPod nano, or tickets.
And I am still mourning my Nokia 7260. =(
Singapore schools punish cheeky student bloggers
Singapore schools punish cheeky student bloggersGOD.
I am naive and not streetsmart. I was from a relatively good JC, got relatively good grades and am now in university, first year undergraduate. I learned how to calculate the horizontal velocity of an object in trajectory motion, how interest rates affect inflation rates and how to write a well-balanced GP essay.
Ooh! We live in a very nice society. Nice as in peaceful, I can walk at night and reach home safely and I can go to school without fearing I'd get my head blown off by a gun or a bomb. Yup. So our forefathers worked bloody damn hard to get us to where we are today, in only FORTY years.
Jump ahead. Now we as students have to use technology for everything. So you can say that WE are the pioneering batch of new media users.
Cut the crap. Maybe schools should include a subject on INTERNET LAWS IN SINGAPORE. Maybe then we will be educated enough so that they will stop picking on us NAIVE, STUPID STUDENTS whom nobody has tried to educate on the WAY OF LIFE IN SINGAPORE.
Funny, society give us a sheltered life and then society expects us to learn the way of the UNSHELTERED life IMMEDIATELY. Oh, I get it! Maybe THAT'S their way of getting us to learn the unsheltered life -- turn media's spotlight on us. Thanks for trying to teach us.
I am sorry, I think you baby boomers forgot that we are in different generations. You just do NOT understand. You brought us up this way and we are trying to make sense of the world that we have been kept from.
So god damn it, stop shooting us down.

This is an excerpt from The Straits Times (Tuesday, 27/9/2005) on the article "Schools act against students for 'flaming' teachers on blogs" :
'If teachers wish to prosecute, they may have legal grounds to do so. Singapore Teachers' Union general secretary Swithun Lowe said the union is ready to back any teacher who wants to take legal action. It has offered legal help to a few members, but they did "not want to affect the prospects of their young students".'
When I read this I wanted to laugh and cry at the same time. Why? Laugh because the part where they say "they did 'not want to affect the prospects of their young students' " is so ironic. I thought teachers were supposed to impart good values, so maybe they should have said something along the lines of "they are still students, they might be wrong but it is something they can learn from." If a teacher says this I will respect him/her for the rest of my life. But no, so I'm sorry, I have nothing to say. I think I am like one of those customers who have the phrase "Customer is King" permanently burned into their eyeballs, so they see it in front of them all the time. Sometimes I think I am so hypocritical.
God, what the hell is happening to society?
And why cry? Precisely because I cannot understand what the hell is happening to society.
Or maybe because I am just god-damn naive, and so pissed off that I cannot breathe properly and not enough oxygen go to my brain so I cannot think properly.
Man, I am so pissed off.
Lunchtime concert
Before I start writing anything, I must first state that my sense of musicality and hearing, on all aspects, have deteoriated much first after I joined band, and then joined band again in AJ. I regret letting myself drift in terms of listening. So my comments on how they played might not exactly be accurate.
I watched a lunch-time concert at 1pm at NUS University Cultural Centre (UCC). I'm telling you, I'm in love with that place. I love the smell of concert halls.
Anyway, it was a free performance at the Dome at UCC (FYI, the Dome is like a cafe, something like starbucks, only more expensive, and nicer ambience) by the Presbyterian Ladies College's (Melbourne) Music School. They are touring Shanhai, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore as part of their 130th anniversary celebrations .
I am jealous.
They are all either younger than us or are our age, and I tell you, they play beautifully. (Please remember my first paragraph) They were very much in tune, most of the time, except for when they ( I think) started squeaking twice in the first piece and maybe once more in the cello later on. They played very soulfully, very nice. The piano, flute and cello trio raised goosebumps on my arms and my legs and my head. Luckily my hair is long and heavy enough. Never stand up.
So they started off with a wind quintet consisting of a flute, oboe, horn, bassoon and clarinet. Played
"Wind Quintet in B flat major. Op 56 No. 1 - 1st movement. by
Franz Danzi"and
"La Fille aux Cheveux de Lin - from
Suite No. 1 by
Debussy. Arr. by Prohasky".I hope I got them right. The timbres of the different instruments made it very difficult for me to judge how they played, but to me they played very nicely. The different timbres just kind of blend together when one left off and another picked up the melody. I loved the way the horn and bassoon complimented each other, neither one surpassing the other. The clarinetist was good! So was the oboist! The sounds were mature and controlled. Can see that they are all listening to each other. The beginning of the first (or second) piece was really beautiful, the way they just kind of blend into each other and the way they would back off and the melody of that phrase would come out for that bit, and then fade away and another would come in again. However in the middle somewhere there was some kind of confusion, a bit messy and the tones somehow did not . . . I don't know. But the 1st (or 2nd, I can't remember) piece left me happy and contented. I wanted to sit there for a long long time.
Of course I won't go through all the pieces they played. The whole mini concert was only about 45 min.
So they did a flute quartet, then the piano, flute and cello trio and then the full string orchestra (with a dance which I thought was very interesting, and somehow has an exotic feel to it) before ending off with the SAME MUSICIANS SINGING!
I have to say this, they sing beautifully. They sang the harmonies!
The harmonies!!! A mere ah, maybe 14 of them on that platform 3 metres in front of me. I can't remember the title of what they sang. One was something like something-rose by Bette Midler. I don't even know if I got the name right. Another by The Carpenter's. The last I simply cannot remember.
So, who says band members cannot sing? So all my bandmates, next time if there is a need to sing, we must sing loudly ok!
I also noticed that there are quite a bit of asians in that group. Quite a large number, in fact. And some of them are singaporeans, I heard. Must be nice for them, coming back to their homeland. And they all have nice skin . . . Aside from freckles, they have relatively nice skin compared to the majority of us here in tropical Singapore.
I am jealous.
Oh, there was this female flautist who is about maybe secondary 2 in age? So 15 years old? Or perhaps younger. She was so shy! After the pieces she would just look at the carpet and bow and never looked at the audience. Although in the middle of the pieces I caught her glimpsing out at the audience. She caught my eye because the others were just so comfortable with performing and always looked at the audience.
And I finally understand what is meant by a "red-head". I finally saw one today.
Black Holes
I promise, after I finish my term paper for physics on black holes (which should be on 10th November), I will give a detailed description of black holes here.
Or a not so detailed one, because the detailed one would be about 5,000 words which would bore every one of you to death.
Ever wondered how it would look like in a black hole?
Anyway we would not be able to live to see the inside of a black hole because the rotating speed around the black hole and the gravity would have killed us anyway. We would be torn apart at maybe our stomach.
Ooh, but the speed would be so great that I guess we would be much younger than those on earth due to Einstein's Special Relativity. Or General Relativity. I think it's special relativity. General relativity refers to something else.
That's a great way to keep young! We could be a few hundred/thousand years old and still look 25!
Of course, that would be if we still lived to see the effects . . .
(facts here might be wrong so liu yin, since you are doing black holes too tell me if i'm wrong. haha...)
The "I am that guy" craze
The "I am that guy" craze is gripping the blogosphere!
I read a couple of those, and still like
Mr Brown's and
mercermachine's best. There is also one done by
juicypout which I think is very nice.
Ok, just find the
trackbacks here at tomorrow.sg
I think mercermachine's one of the pioneers who posted it (or is it THE pioneer?).
I'm too lazy to write something that is so "cheem", so I will just link. Very nice. I almost teared when I read them. Nevermind the fact that I tear very easily.
Mooncakes
In my last post I said that I wanted to eat a mooncake. Guess what? This morning (19th sept 2005) for breakfast there was a plate of mooncakes on the table.
Spooky.
Only that there was no egg-yolk, if not, it will be even more spooky.
Talk about coincidences.
Mid-Autumn Festival
It's Mid-autumn Festival today! Yay! Although I did not carry lanterns and have already finished the mooncakes approximately a week before today, I still feel good! The moon tonight is the fullest and very bright too! Usually the moon would be the fullest on the day after, but for this year, it is the fullest on THE DAY itself! Yay! Very bright ah! I want to study astronomy! Very intriguing, the outer space, the stars, the universe, and possibly, the universes...
Wah lao, heard on ch8 news that the moon will be the roundest tonight at either 7+ or 10+, but can't find anything online that I can link to leh!
I want to eat more mooncakes! With egg-yolks!
Blog skin ; "Ram-bu-tan"
I changed my blogskin. Was comtemplating between blue and pink... and green... ok, and orange. Thought I would try some other colour besides blue, but still ended up with it. I miss my old blogskin already! Nostalgia! The last one was nice right, but I thought it was a bit too... old. I know I'm growing old, but still there is no need to live up to my age.
The day my tutor said "ram-bu-tan"
In my 3rd psychology tutorial, my tutor wanted to demonstrate to us a memory technique, because we were on the topic of memory. We had to associate the first bunch of words to the 2nd bunch of words. So he reading the 10th word or so, which was, "ram-bu-tan" (note: pronounce the syllabus separately, meaning "ram" as the animal "ram", and "tan" as in "I have a nice tan"), after which he said, "I just had to show off a bit." He was from California.
We stared at him for 2 full seconds before he realized that we did not know what he was saying. He then threw his hands up in the air and cried, " Forget it! Mangosteen!" To which we finally caught on and understood that "ram-bu-tan" meant "rambutan".
Japan magic
Right after my friend read the previous entry on the video, she sent me 2 videos. I realized one was from the same Japan TV show.
Japan magicAnother one is from St. John eyecare centre. Which country, I don't know.
Old lady's Car - Free eye testing for pensionersI hope I'm not breaking any copyright rules by doing this. Enjoy!
I'm using "
Upload Video and Images - Putfile" to host my videos. First time using it, don't know if good or not. You all know must tell me k!
Street magic ; Band today
Check out this website (blog)! It's so funny! I got it from an email from my friend.
Website to visitI do not know how he did that leaning thing, but the last part where he coughs and his head drops down hints that he might not be as tall as he looks. That may explain why he is walking weirdly. Maybe he is on stilts! And you can see that he has his hand in his pocket and he has that bulge where his belly is supposed to be! I still cannot make sense of how he did the head drop thing though. The leaning part perhaps because he has really strong abdomen muscles. And that part where the picture of the drink turns real and then turns back into paper! How?! Are the passengers all into the act as well?? How?!
Illusion! It is all illusion! But how?! I am so amazed!
The website is in Japanese, my computer cannot even read the japanese characters, much less ask a friend to translate them for me. So if any of you can read the Japanese characters or listen to what they are saying in the video, please tell me! You can tag or comment or something. (By the way, my tagboard is working, it's just that I removed all the tags, it was getting messy and crowded.)
Alvin is back from Taiwan and he bought some stuff for us! [haha, we expected it. That's why we were in for band today (Friday 16th sept)! Haha, no lahz, i'm a good girl ok...] Got those muah chee that we keep saying look like mooncake and then he would say "Not mooncake lah...!" Haha... Can't help it, lantern festival (or mooncake festival as some know it) is just around the corner and the round muah chee (nicely packaged and all) just reminded us of mooncakes.
And he got these bracelets for us! Mine was nice and brightly coloured and I liked it. Except for the fact that I would have to wear it on my ankle because it is the only part that the bracelet would fit. For your information, I have thick ankes. So I would most probably untie the knot, or cut the string and then remove some parts of the bracelet and rethread it again. It would probably fit then.
In any case, thanks alvin for the gifts! Although he won't be reading this.
And Yaoming told me that the iPod nano cost $190+ alright. IN US$!!! Shit, I feel so embarrassed. I saw it in the newspapers the other day and it was selling for $300 plus. Well, that explains it. Haha... thanks, yaoming, for telling me. I was wondering why the price difference so great.
I am NOT a bimbo!
I don't have the boobs and the looks required to fit into the category.
CNA:Two bloggers charged under Sedition Act over racist remarks
As the heading suggests, two bloggers were charged for making racist remarks. You can see the article
here.
"it's true, you have to be mindful of what you say about others, what more about other races. it's hurtful hear someone say something bad abt our own race, isn't it... i'm curious though, wat did they say on their forum/blogs? i tot tat being charged was a bit too serious, though. perhaps a warning letter and a public apology or smthing to tat extent wld haf been enuf. surely we r smart enuf (to an extent) to understand the serious implications their actions can bring?"
This is what I put on mr brown's blog. Was too lazy to retype it again.
Oh, and i got this from another person, that we should reserve our comments for after we have read what it is exactly that was posted on the forum and blog.
Sorry, was full of energy and wanted to blog about this the moment I heard of the news but blogger wouldn't let me in and so the enthusiasm faded away after 2 days.
I want to blog about a government-controlled organisation too, but I'm tired. And I have to study. I apologise. Liu Yin told me about it today and I feel absolutely disgusted.
I'll write about it another day.
Hectic!
It's hectic for me! It's always hectic on sunday, the day before MONDAY. I'm supposed to compile everything from my members for japanese studies project, and then I realize that there are a lot of things we need to add in. So, I have to go running after them for the synopsis and websites and what-not. Hell, I even have to ask a group member for her full name and I'm not sure that I got another one right!
Then all those readings to do! I always fall asleep trying to get through the whole stack. You know my lecturer/tutor for psychology told us about this method of encouraging ourselves to study. It goes something like this:
You take a plate of your favourite food, it has to be in small portions to work. For every page you read, cover it later and then try to remember the content of that page. Check if you are correct and keep doing so until you get it about there. Then you can reward yourself with a piece of that food. It's a psychology concept called operant conditioning, which is an association between behaviour and consequences. It provides the means of learning behaviours with rewarding outcomes or an avoidance of pain or aversive stimuli.
Guess what happened?
I ate the whole plate of biscuits after 2 pages.
Dates and times
I did a stupid thing with my format, so that the times of all my previous blog entries are all mixed up. It was something else previously, and then I changed it to Singapore time so all the times are different!!!
Argh!!
Ok, so whatever times or dates you see before these 2 entries today (12th september) are WRONG... Damn it.
ipod Nano and Zen Nano
I checked out
Mr Brown's website and I saw this awesome, FLAT,
Apple's ipod Nano. God, it costs like only $190+ (as from website, I don't know if it's true), for a 4GB one and it's so bloody FLAT!
And then there is
Creative's Zen Nano.
I talked to Liu Yin about it, and she said she has this by Creative. A
MuVo Slim, of which I admit I have never heard of before, although I have seen it, but since I have never heard of it before, I did not make the link between the object and the name, hence, I have never known about the product before. =D
I like that ipod Nano... Have I mentioned that it is so FLAT?
My birthday's coming pretty soon...
Special Relativity
Special Relativity is both interesting and confusing.
Do you know that if you took a trip to the stars, travelling at a speed a significant fraction of the speed of light, you would age less than the people on earth? I don't want to grow old, maybe I should try it.
Anyway this thing that happens, does not conform to the first postulate of relativity, i.e the laws of physics are the same for all inertial observers.
Gosh, I can put a name to the times when the pitch of the siren of an ambulance or passing police car sounds lower when further off and higher when nearer. That name is the Doppler Effect.
Ok, but I still do not understand the Relativistic Doppler Effect which basically explains the effect of why light looks bluer if we approach the source, and redder when moving away from the source. I thought they just said all observers should see the same speed of light (2nd rule of postulates of relativity), then now it is "affected by the relative velocities"??
Then I have to do that chemistry thing that I hated in A-levels again. Atomic Orbitals.
Oh, nice colour (in the notes, not in real life, I think) and shapes of orbitals (in real life) alright, (You would be surprised at how an atom looked) but difficult to imagine for me.
Sorry lah, I have poor imagination (wonder why I'm in arts), that's why I prefer physics. In the end also overlap! See, there is no clear line drawn between the sciences. Sigh, guess no choice.
Physics tutorial tomorrow! Yay! Bombard the tutor with questions . . .
Pictures on Percussion Exposure Concert

Marimba solo / a piece on vibes

Blur images of Mr. Pan on marching snare solo.
Thanks Ching Hoon for the pictures! Because he was moving around a lot while playing, it was difficult to get a clear shot. This is the best that she can find! Cannot see his face ah, sad... Except for that picture of him at the vibraphone. Can imagine a bit lah.. haha... But I think the blurred images of the snare solo make very good effects! Like those books want to show what are the strokes and all that, except that it is ultra blur. But you use your imagination lah, hor! I'm very happy to get these pictures! And I have finished my draft of the literature essay, though it sucks sucks sucks. Write already not satisfied with it, not like in the past. Whatever!
Thanks again ching hoon!
Btw, I think linking bloggerbot and hello and blogger and what-not, sucks. I can't post e pictures in one post. Either it sucks or I'm stupid. So if you know how to use please teach me.
Attached
My friend from JC got attached to a guy from her faculty just yesterday (3rd sept 2005, Saturday) officially.
To get her account, read
here.
It's a pretty complicated story. Not the relationship, just the story before she had even met this guy. Anyway, this guy A comes from the same school as the guy B she had previously liked and guy A kind of reminded her of guy B so she was pretty confused. Anyway I guess that worked out now! Yay! =D Congrats! Since her version is rather simplified (no offence! =p), I have gotten her permission to allow me to give an account of what happened, based on what she told me.
Friend got to know guy A from a faculty camp during O-week and became good friends. He knows that she once liked guy B who was from the same secondary school, but he does not know who he is.
So on thursday 1-9-2005, Friend attempted to tell guy A that she likes him, but he stopped her. Afterwards he asked Friend's friend if the matter is true, and she confirms it with him. The next day, friday 2-9-2005, after school guy A followed her home using lame excuses. After friend enters lift, he rushes in at the last minute and then held her hand and said "I'll never let go." Friend stared at him, confused (she tells me after proof-reading this entry that she couldn't believe it, that's why look blur, haha..) and he said, "You really very slow leh."
The lift door opens, she steps out, he is still holding her hand. So she tells him,
"If you don't let go my mum will see lor."
To which he replies, "I don't mind." (or something to that extent.)
She says, "But I mind, " (something to that extent) partly because she's afraid that her mum might object, so he lets go.
Then he dated her out, verbally and through SMS at about 8pm, but she did not agree until 12+pm, when it is officially Saturday 4-9-2005. That is how they got together.
So they went on a date to Sun Plaza and watched a movie, of which the details I will not post because this is their private life (note the "THEIR").
Haha! I thought the part where he said "I'll never let go" is so so so damn sweet! I wish someone will say that to me too! My heart will melt on the spot! Then I will really do the same thing as Friend and stare at him. Haha, ok, I'm daydreaming!
So after 18+ years of her life, she is finally (no offence intended here! for me it'll be finally too!) attached! She is so happy! I am happy for her too! Both like each other, that's great! Haha . . . I wish the both of you a happy and lasting relationship!
Cheers!
Newspaper ; Perc. concert
There was this really funny article in The Straits Times today (2nd sept 2005) regarding Buangkok MRT :
Police probe complaint on 'white elephants'When I saw the article on paper I thought there was some printing error or the cut-out pictures of the elephants were placed there using some software. It was really an amusing and innovative way to make a point and get it across without creating a storm. I thought the person must be really artistic because the elephants were really nicely drawn and cartoon-ish, not to mention really cute.
I went for the percussion concert put up by Commonwealth, Ang Mo Kio and Xinmin Secondary today (2nd sept 2005, friday) at XMS school hall. It was really cool, past the standard I was expecting. Mr. Huei-Yuan Pan, a percussionist, student, musician who had and is still studying overseas, and who will be going to Chicago's Northwestern University to do his Masters in Percussion Performance, was mainly the one who trained the percussionists from these 3 schools for tonight's performance. (Sorry the introduction was so long, I had to do him justice.) He is really, really good! Both on mallets and marching snare drum.
I have to talk about the marching snare bit. It was awesome! It was a scene straight from
drumline, what with all the stick throwing, flipping, using stick butts to hit, turning of the wrists... God, I never thought I would actually SEE it being done in front of me, in Singapore. I'm telling you, I am still shocked and amazed and am still astonished that I actually saw it being played. I wish I had brought my camera and taken a few photos of him playing.
Why shocked and astonished? Because they only said that it was a marching snare drum solo, so I expected something ordinary and perhaps boring although insightful, and I got the shock of my life when he started hitting the drum wildly and then proceeded to do the tricks that I had attempted to imitate after watching
drumline in JC.
There was a bit where he did not manage to catch his stick after throwing it, but he picked it up, jumped in front of the snare, clicked his sticks together and motioned for us to clap, then continued right where he left off. It was wonderful! I still can't believe I actually watched all this for FREE! Right in my alma-mater's school hall! I feel like I have just had some wine and am floating around.
Not to mention that he was good-looking and charming ok! Some people have everything! This is the 2nd time I have actually blogged about a good-looking guy with the talent (the first being Junyang, in the post before this), and twice consecutively!
To Yiangshan, this must be another case of "bass guitar syndrome". =D Must help me tell Mr. Pan that he very good ok! And very charming! From my position below the stage and with the stage light behind him, anyway. =D
Everytime I think about the snare drum solo I stare into space and have this stupid smile on my face... I am so happy that I managed to watch someone play that
drumline scene LIVE, in a normal school hall... Unbelievable!
*Sigh*
And it will be Mr. Brando Tan's birthday today (3rd sept 2005, saturday), so the percussionists and some of the band members actually bought a cake and brought it in at the end of the concert, while playing the birthday song. It was really nice of them and quite touching, albeit a little noisy. =)
And oh! I saw Tommy from my NYPF group on stage! The youngest percussionist in our group at that time has grown up! With spiked hair... why is it always spiked hair? Haha, anyway, Yiangshan, help me tell him I saw him and said hi ok!
Haha, haiz, I'm growing old... I still have my Literature essay to figure out and that physics paper which I have not started on yet, but that's not for another 2 months so it's Lit for now. And I have decided to change my mind about my Lit tutor. She's quite nice and teaches well. I just have to get used to her.
Today is a good day! I caught one of the most amazing performances of my life (unexpectedly) and have started on my essay . . .
Cheers to music!
Superstar 2005
Winner of first ever Superstar 2005 - Kelvin Tan Wei Lian!
Wah, I can't believe he won. Actually, I can. But I can't believe he sang so badly tonight! Totally not in the frame of mind. Kelly actually sang better than him, and her last song was absolutely wonderful, just brought me to another world. It was, as the judges say, very much a jump to a completely new level of singing.
As to who I voted, I voted Kelly, based on tonight's performance, although under normal circumstances I would have probably voted for Kelvin. My dad voted for Kelvin. Tong Qing piao; Wah lao, can't believe he actually did that lor! Haiz... People have their own fan club and supporters ok! No need to pity! Must give them support based on their talents instead! Kelvin has the talent, but there were others who are so much better, I thought. I think I'm evil. Same goes for Kelly too. I thought that there are certainly others who are much better than her . . . Then that last song she sang changed my mind.
However, I thought that the highlight of the show tonight was actually not Kelly or Kelvin, but is actually the other 2 top contestants, Junyang and Xin Hui. Their singing was superb and they have that on-stage chemistry when performing together. I loved it! It raised goosebumps on my arms when I saw and heard them singing together. Although the goosebumps might have been because they were flirting with each other on-stage . . . It was fun to watch anyhow!
Seriously, I can't believe Junyang is my senior, however distant it may be. Ok, Ok, I will explain. He is in the same university as me, in same faculty, but is in his honours year now for economics. Good-looking, smart and has talent, what a guy! *Sigh*
Haha, I sound like one of those screaming girls who go, "Ahhh! Junyang, Junyang! We love you forever!" Argh, can't stand it! But he so cute! And that Derrick! Both so cute!
Don't any of you have the feeling that
Superstar was not as successful as
Singapore Idol? My dad begs to differ. He said that
Singapore Idol isn't so good, too many (to put it simply) Ah bengs and weird things ( like the taking off of clothes), while
Superstar was not so rough in that sense.
What's wrong with me?! Can't write properly!
Oh I love physics! And I must love school! So far literature's been ok, so I'm hoping for a miracle to meet Junyang . . . WHAT am I saying?! Get back to the matter at hand! Ok, lit, right.
Forget it! Oh, I saw Li Jun at uni some days ago, did I mention it? Yes, that superstar contestant is in NUS as well. She isn't as tall as I imagined, about my height, maybe slightly taller, and I'm about 156cm? Ok, I'm short! Don't remind me! She is so dark and I realized she likes to wear off-shoulder shirts. Did not see her face, though, basically because I could not bring myself to submit to my instincts to turn and stare at her in front of so many people. Actually the whole bunch of people were burning to stare at her as well. You could sense their curiosity just by standing there and staring at the computer screen, which we were all doing in the printing room. Everybody was sneaking glances at her out of the corner of our eyes. It is really amusing now when you think about it. Because I was throwing surreptitious glances at her, I did not manage a glimpse of her face, although she was standing beside me at one time and I wanted to sniff the air for her scent. I have a tendency to sniff the air for a person's scent in order to determine what kind of person he/she is. Sounds kind of like a dog, isn't it? I can't remember her scent anyway, so nevermind.
Ah, well! Only a miracle will allow me to see Junyang at school! Then let a miracle happen! Haha, I'm just kidding . . .

Writing
I give up! Don't ask me on what! I just give up!
Anyway, I have a physics paper to write, a literature essay to write, a japanese studies project to complete and tons and tons of readings to go through and understand. I really do NOT understand what we are supposed to write in that physics paper, and yet at the same time I'm really excited about writing it. Does it make sense? And that lit essay, I know the points but it's so difficult to put it down in words. Think I still am not in the study mode.
Spent quite some time on getting through the japanese studies notes again. What I thought was boring now seems quite interesting. In a way I am glad I took arts. But I'm kind of apprehensive about the writing (and writing) and more writing part.
Ah well. I just have to get my creative juices flowing again.
Cheers!
